Public Karaoke
Mother Cluckers
Enjoy homemade slices or whole pizzas, chicken, and drinks with a side of karaoke Tuesday and Thursdays, from 9 p.m. to midnight. Join host Mia Dorr for your favorite tunes, and play darts and arcade games while you wait for your turn on the mic.
Vegas Lounge
An iconic wood-paneled Northeast Minneapolis karaoke dive, this cash-only bar hosts karaoke seven nights a week starting at 9 p.m. With two-for-one drinks all week long, those who need a little bit of liquid courage before singing are more than covered before their tunes, along with weeknight events like bingo, meat raffles, and pull tabs. Fuel up with a variety of Heggie’s pizza varieties, burgers, wings, and more between your songs.
Eagle Bar
Looking for karaoke for your queer crew? Local LGBTQ+ bar, the Eagle, hosts karaoke each Wednesday evening from 8 to 12 p.m. Grab a burger, one of several fried delicacies offered, or a Heggie’s until the kitchen closes at 10 p.m. or hang out before karaoke on their spacious dog-friendly-patio.
Otter’s Saloon
Another Northeast karaoke classic that hosts karaoke every day, Otter’s has been around for over 100 years. This second-shift bar opens at 8 a.m., and the small bar’s walls are plastered with photos and sports memorabilia. Scoot into the cozy bar to sing from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., but sometimes the wait to sing can be long on a busy night in this tiny bar.
NE Moose
This lively old-school Northeast bar is a popular spot for motorcyclists, but is also a hot spot for karaoke. Roll over on Tuesdays through Sundays from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. to sing your favorite of their over 100,000 songs to choose from, and well as enjoy food, drink, and tunes late into the night.
Mortimer’s
Do your best T-Pain impression every Monday night at Mortimer’s autotune karaoke in Uptown. From 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., even those who are insecure about their singing voices can have their pitch electronically corrected by the magic of autotune. It’s an entertaining twist on classic karaoke that adds a splash of modernity and whimsy to your karaoke set.
Los Sanchez
¿Quieres cantar en español? Whittier’s Los Sanchez kicks off karaoke Friday and Saturday nights starting at 6 p.m. While there are also options in English to sing along to, it’s a great spot for bilingual cantadores in a environment full of beautiful tilework and murals. Los Sanchez is also known for their incredible seafood options and fancily presented beverages, so don’t skip the shrimp cocktail or a chamoy-drizzled tequila-spiked mangonada.
Nye’s Polonaise
Opened in 1950, Nye’s was once a spot for piano and polka and today only the former of their music offerings remain. Check out live piano karaoke every day except Monday and Tuesday from 8 p.m. until last call in a beautiful time-capsule of a bar. The dimly-lit corner building boasts huge murals on brick walls, subway tiled floors, and shiny wraparound vinyl booths. They serve up classic cocktails along with local and Polish beers, and wine to keep your singing pipes well lubricated.
Private Room Karaoke
For those who prefer singing in the shower or among friends rather than serenading strangers in a karaoke bar, there are a few options for private karaoke rooms in Minneapolis, too.
Zhora Darling
The name is a nod to a character and a pet snake from the 1982 film Blade Runner, and with a little bit of neon and orb light fixtures as a subtle nod to the movie, this restaurant, bar, and venue opened in 2023. It’s a large, modern and also features a private karaoke room. It comfortably fits 12-16 people and is available to rent in two-hour increments. This Japanese-style private room has visitors cueing up their own songs on an iPad app. To feed your party, step to the bar to order well-balanced cocktails, beers, and THC drinks, along with juicy burgers, chicken sandwiches, and veggie options. Servers will deliver food right to the room.
Shin Karaoke
Perched above Stadium Village’s Korea Restaurant, Shin offers three small private rooms and one large party room for singing. Although there is no alcohol there is delicious Korean food served Mondays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with just karaoke offered from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.
