Southwest Minneapolis is made up of several neighborhoods, including Linden Hills, Fulton and Armatage to the west and, Lynnhurst, Tangletown, and East Harriet to the east. It is an area known for many local shops, well-maintained parks and a diverse culinary scene with plenty of dining options ranging from cozy cafes to trendy eateries.

The Linden Hills and Kingfield neighborhoods make up a big part of the Southwest Minneapolis area. A visit to Linden Hills will yield a visit to Lake Harriett where you can rent paddleboats, walk or bike around the lake on scenic trails, or catch a concert at the historic Lake Harriet Bandshell during the summer months. And not far you'll find some of the top rated restaurants in the area: Martina, Rosalia, and Naviya's. Head over to the other side of late and hit up even more critically acclaimed and frequently visited restaurants in Kingfield. These include: Khaluna, Boludo, Revival, and Pattiserre 46. Lake Harriet is also known for the state's most colorful and creative winter festivals. Every January and February, the Art Shanty Project and Kite Festival take place on the lake. The Art Shanty features artists building on theme shanties and creating interactive experiences.
The winding streets of Tangletown offer Tangletown Gardens, a nursery and garden center with a wide selection of items. Pick out a plant or a gift, then eat at Wise Acre Eatery, across the street where you can get a delightful outdoor dining experience. Just south is the Museum of Russian Art to learn all about the art, people, and culture of Muscovite Russia, the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and its former republics.
A stop in Fulton will take you on a shopping trip to Hunt & Gather, where you'll thrift through thousands of vintage items. Or grab a bite at local favorites Red Cow and Broders Pasta Bar.
Getting to and Around Southwest Minneapolis

The neighborhoods within Southwest are all very walkable, but if you do decide to drive there is plenty of street parking available around town. The East side neighborhoods run just along the main 35W freeway making them easily accessible.
If you plan to take the bus two good route option are the 4 which takes you just south of Lake Harriet and the 6 which gets to the east side, hitting Linden Hills and Fulton. The 46 is also a good option that runs through Tangletown and Lynnhurst.
