Current Renovation Projects
Construction projects are taking place in 2024, 2025 and 2026 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. These projects will continue to enhance the overall infrastructure and amenities within our award-winning building and ensure an even better and more comfortable environment for you and your attendees.
Project Overview
Construction projects are underway expected to be completed in early 2026. During this period, you may notice increased activity and some temporary inconveniences. We assure you that our team will make every effort to minimize the disruptions and complete the project efficiently.
Scope of Work
Construction for the first half of this year will primarily focus on our lighting in main corridors and lobbies as well as new ceiling tiles. We are converting all lighting to more energy efficient LED. In addition, a full renovation of our meeting rooms will take place the later part of 2024 through 2026. There is a strategic plan to segment this work in order to avoid as much disruption as possible with existing groups. The meeting rooms under construction will be blocked off with wood barriers and all construction will happen inside the meeting rooms. Our priority is to maintain a safe and secure environment for all visitors throughout the duration of the project.
Working Hours
This activity will take place between 6a.m. – 2p.m. each day. We will not work in booked space during event days. Unoccupied areas of our venue will be the focus on client event days.
Communication
We understand the importance of keeping you informed throughout the construction process. Regular updates will be posted on our website and detailed e-mails will be sent six (6 ) weeks prior to each event.
Even award-winning convention centers need updating. We appreciate your understanding during this renovation phase. Our aim is to enhance the overall experience you and your attendees have at the Minneapolis Convention Center, and we are committed to completing these projects with the least amount of inconvenience to you.
