MODERN/TAI CHI
with Jane Shockely/Ray Hawayrd | March 11, 5:30-7:00pm
Are you looking for a way to bring organic nuance to your dancing, a path to your power and grace , or just want to try something new? Then this workshop in Tai- Chi/ Dance is for you! A Tai -chi body is soft, relaxed and neutral. It is from this neutral body that we will move from slow to fast, small to big and easy to rigorous. We will practice standing meditation, breath work(chi kung), and movements that are slow, simple and gentle. These movements will be the foundation for a faster and more complex phrase of movements that highlight the body's relationship to gravity. All levels are welcome.
BOLLYWOOD
with Divya, Jinal, and Rashi | March 12, 5:30-7:00pm
Bollywood is a stylized freestyle dance form based on moves used in the Indian/Bollywood films. It is energetic, lyrical, and aerobic, molded on classical and folk dance forms (Bhangra, Raas, Kathak, and Lavani), and influenced by Western Hip Hop. In short- it's way too much fun!
Divya Maiya, Jinal Vakil, and Rashi Mangalick form Bollywood Dance Scene-Twin Cities. They are trained dancers that have been teaching Bollywood in Twin Cities area for over a year now. "We all come together to teach dance, present our culture & have fun."
WEST AFRICAN
with Whitney McClusky | March 13, 5:30-7:00pm *Live drumming!
An invigorating workout which incorporates West African dance movement with live drumming! This class offers a variety of dynamics and all levels are welcomed. Choreography is broken down to accommodate new dancers and the pace is heightened for those wanting more challenge. It is a friendly and inviting environment!
Whitney began studying African Dance at the Djoniba Dance and Drum Center NYC. Instantly addicted to the call of the drum there was no turning back. Fode was the resident drummer for the Alvin Ailey School in New York in addition to being the principal drummer for the most respected and talented dancers in the African Dance World.
IRISH
with Danielle Enblom | March 14, 5:30-7:00pm
A sampler class of various traditions within Irish dance ranging from the popular and well known modern step dancing, to rarer styles still found in Ireland today. Historical context will accompany steps and technique in a class designed to invoke the true spirit of this social dance tradition!
Danielle Enblom is a dancer, fiddle player and teacher. She currently lives in Ireland. Danielle is one of the few dancers and teachers in the country with experience and expertise that combine competitive Irish step dance, sean nós (old style Irish dance), and many of the other percussive dance traditions found in Ireland, Scotland and North America.

$13 per class - no need to pre-register! Zenon accepts visa, mastercard, cash or checks for workshops! We cannot accept workstudy cards, class-cards or free-class cards. Classes are taught at Beginning level - no experience necessary!
