MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTAThe maverick Zenon Dance Company, a modern- and jazz-dance institution that continues to influence and enhance the Minnesota dance scene, announces its 31st Fall Season, November 22-December 1, 2013, at The Cowles Center in Minneapolis. The program features the:
World premiere of Stephanie Batten Blands Caught, which includes an on-stage installation of woven white plastic bags;
Zenons premiere of Danny Buraczeskis masterwork Ezekiels Wheel, inspired by the writings of James Baldwin, and set to a score for percussion and voice composed by Philip Hamilton with Peter Jones;
Reprise of luciana achugars Molten Substance, which the Star Tribune called a rare and wonderful gift to the company, with live percussion performed on stage by J.T. Bates.
