Women of Substance Series at The O'Shaughnessy: Katie McMahons Celtic Christmas will feature the Minnesota Boychoir this year
Saint Paul, Minn., Oct. 17, 2014 The O'Shaughnessy's Women of Substance series continues with Katie McMahons Celtic Christmas featuring the Minnesota Boychoir at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2014.
Dubbed Minnesotas own Celtic Woman, Katie McMahon is best known as the original voice of Riverdance. Katie has graced the stage of The OShaughnessy for over 10 years, becoming one of the theaters liveliest holiday traditions. Her ode to the holidays, Celtic Christmas celebrates the season through a family-friendly program of traditional Christmas carols, stories and lively Irish dance.
This holiday season, the Minnesota Boychoir will join Katie as special guests along with the Corda Mor Irish Dancers. Musicians include Zack Kline (fiddle), Karen Mueller (autoharp and guitar) and Wolf Loescher (percussion). Jenny Russ, Nick Karageorgiou & Everett Vass. And fiddler Zack Klines band, The Orange Mighty Trio, will add to the musical highlights of the evening.
We are excited to have such a large group of talented performers with us this year, exclaims Katie McMahon. Our 75 performers range from award-winning instrumentalists and singers to champion Irish dancers. The program will, as always, feature beautiful Celtic carols along with new selections from France, Italy, Spain and Germany. Theres something for everyone and we are so happy that thousands over the years have made our Celtic Christmas show an essential part of their Christmas family tradition.
Tickets for Katie McMahons Celtic Christmas featuring (special guests) the Minnesota Boychoir and The Orange Mighty Trio are $27, with prices for seniors at $22 and for children (under 18) at $12. Adult groups of 10 or more are priced at $20. St. Catherine University's Women of Substance series was founded in 1996 to encourage all women to find their voice and place on life's stage. The series, which hosts local, national and international artists, continually reminds audience members of both genders the importance of living lives of substance.
