Minneapolis Holiday Market Sneak Peek: German Steingut
Stein is the abbreviation for German Steingut stoneware, the common material for beer mugs before the introduction of glass. The Minneapolis Holiday Market has a collection of these steins, which originated in the 14th century, of all shapes and sizes. They also have glass boots of all shapes and sizes that have become incredibly popular. Find your favorite motif that can become a great personal gift for any beer lover.
Minnesota Harvest
Homegrown in our own back yard, Minnesota Harvest out of Jordan is an apple orchard and bakery that is represented here at the Minneapolis Holiday Market. Baker Cornelio Hernandez has perfected his craft over 13 years at Minnesota Harvest, and his apple squares, strudels and dumplings are worth the trip. The caramel drizzled on top of the apple squares takes six hours to perfect, and the condensed apple cider on the dumplings adds the perfect topping. Their apple orchard and bakery draws between 8,000-10,000 each day on the weekends in September and October.
