Walk for The Philippines at Mall of America®
WHAT:
On Nov. 8, 2013, Typhoon Haiyan affected millions of peoples lives in the Philippines. In fact, the number of those devastated by this event equal the total amount affected by hurricane Katrina and the Indian Ocean tsunami combined.
In an effort to raise funds that will benefit the Typhoon Haiyan disaster, the Fil-Minnesotan Association will host the Walk for the Philippines at Mall of America® on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 7 a.m.
Hundreds will gather for the fundraiser, which will include a morning walk, a Skype session with an American-Filipino volunteer currently in the Philippines working on relief efforts and cultural performances. Additionally, 150 people will come together for a human creation of the National Flag of the Philippines in honor of those affected.

The Fil-Minnesotan Association is a non-profit 501 C3 organization that aims to promote and coordinate efforts to improve the economic, social, cultural and educational welfare or well-being of Filipinos or Americans of Philippine descent.
