Union Depot to Serve as “Official Transit Hub” of
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon
Venue Holding Marathon and 10-Mile Entry Giveaways through Facebook Contest June 1-8
SAINT PAUL, Minn. (June 1, 2016) – Union Depot in downtown St. Paul will serve as the “Official Transit Hub” of the 2016 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon that will happen Sunday, October 9. Beginning Friday, October 7 the historic venue will provide free shuttles to the Health & Fitness Expo happening October 7-8 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre. During the marathon, Union Depot will offer convenient parking for visitors and easy access to the METRO Green Line for people wishing to be at the starting line in downtown Minneapolis and finish line at the State Capitol grounds. Metro Transit will also offer free rides to all runners and volunteers of the marathon and other related races when they show their race bib.
To kick off the festivities, the historic venue is holding a marathon entry giveaway through an online Facebook registration. From June 1-8, two lucky winners will each receive a complimentary entry into the Marathon and two winners will each receive an entry into the 10-mile race. In the spirit of the marathon, Union Depot’s free Saturday yoga class on October 1 will be themed “Yoga for Runners” with movements specifically tailored to endurance runners.
This is the third year in a row that Union Depot is the “Official Transit Hub” for the marathon.
