Twin Cities New Way to Enjoy Wine and Dine Out
Taste Twin Cities (www.tastetwincities.com) gives diners a chance to see Twin Cities eateries like never before: walking tours of restaurants, and now winery tours, too. The walking food tours, which cost $45 and last three hours, are led by a tour guide who takes up to 12 participants to five Minneapolis restaurants and specialty shops, while teaching the history behind the neighborhoods and dishes. New to Taste Twin Cities are the winery tours, which begin this May. The $75 winery tours last five to six hours and takes a coach bus to three beautiful, Minnesota and Wisconsin wineries.
Taste Twin Cities walking food tours feature three distinct Minneapolis neighborhoods: Heart of Minneapolis, Minneapolis Riverwalk and Downtown Minneapolis Skyway. Each tour consists of five stops that include 10 to 12 unique tastings. The Heart of Minneapolis Walking Tour features plates ranging from flatbread pizza to French pastries. Minneapolis Riverwalk Walking Tour takes a fresh look at the popular Northeast neighborhoods, leading you from Minnesotas first Thai restaurant all the way to the Guthrie. The Skyway Walking Tour navigates miles of Minneapolis indoor, above-ground walkways year-round to find some of the newest and hottest award-winning restaurants Downtown has to offer.
Premiering this spring, Taste Twin Cities is branching out to include drink tours. First up: wineries. The breakout winery tours take up to 25 oenophiles to three local wineries aboard a coach bus. The Country Side Wine tour visits three wineries to the west of the Twin Cities: Woodland Hill Winery, Sovereign Estate Vineyard & Winery and Parley Lake Winery. The River Road Wine tour, on the other hand, features Cannon River Winery, Northern Vineyards Winery and Valley Vineyard on the east side of the metro area. The $75 five to six hour winery tours include fascinating histories of the wineries and geographies, a private tour of the vineyard, a chance to see first-hand how wine is made, tastings at each winery stop as well as one food pairing, and a souvenir wine glass.
The different tours provided by Taste Twin Cities are offered at pre-scheduled days and times, but are also available for private bookings.
