TICKETS NOW ON SALE FOR LOVE COMICS FROM MINNEAPOLIS MUSICAL THEATRE AT BRYANT-LAKE BOWL
Continuing Minneapolis Musical Theatre's (MMT) commitment to bring new, lesser known, and rarely produced musicals to Twin Cities stages, tickets are now on sale for the area premiere of Love Comics, produced at Bryant-Lake Bowl, February 8-March 2, 2019.
Written by Sarah Schlesinger and David Evans, this campy live-action comic book musical spoofs the teen romance comics of the 1940s and ‘50s. Four hapless romantics fall in and out of love with each other through a madcap array of bizarre adventures and encounters. With each turned page of ‘True Love’ Volume 3, Issue 5, they learn the DOs and DON’Ts of dating. Love Comics will open at Bryant-Lake Bowl February 8, 2019 – just in time for Valentine’s Day – and run through March 2, 2019, with added performances for Valentine’s Day weekend! All performances of Love Comics are at 7:00 p.m. at Bryant-Lake Bowl, 810 West Lake St. Minneapolis, MN 55408.
Love Comics features the talents of Yvonne Freese and Amanda Mai – both previously seen in MMT's acclaimed production of High Fidelity at The Electric Fetus last year, Adam Rousar – previously seen in MMT's 2016 production of Leap of Faith, and appearing in his first MMT production but familiar to Twin Cities theatre-goers - Zach Hays. Music Direction is by Anna Murphy and the show is directed by MMT Artistic Director Joe Hendren.
Season tickets, which also include MMT's spring production of Be More Chill at Illusion Theater, April 5-28, 2019, are available for $45 per ticket at www.aboutmmt.org. Individual tickets for Love Comics are $19 in advance or $22 at the door. You can purchase tickets online or by calling Bryant-Lake Bowl at 612-825-8949.
Love Comics is presented through special arrangement with and all authorized performance materials are supplied by Theatrical Rights Worldwide, 1180 Avenue of the Americas, Suite 640, New York, NY 10036.
