BLOOMINGTON, MN— November 7, 2019
Tonight, thousands gathered to welcome the big guy in red for the annual Santa’s arrival at Mall of America.
The festivities began with families enjoying various holiday treats in the Rotunda including cookies and hot chocolate. Before Santa arrived, guests enjoyed performances by the Eden Prairie High School Marching Band and Minnesota Dance Collaborative.
Santa made his grand appearance on stage and then paraded through Nickelodeon Universe with Mrs. Clause, elves, characters from Nickelodeon and the Eden Prairie High School Marching Band. Following the parade, Santa ended at Santaland in the Atrium to meet with families and officially kick off the holiday season.
He will be available for photos through December 24 at Mall of America. Visit www.mallofamerica.com/events for a complete listing of Santa’s schedule this season.
Mall of America has been preparing for the holiday season all year long. It takes hundreds of “elves” to decorate the 5.6 million square foot property including constructing two 44-foot trees, hanging 500-pound ornaments, stringing miles of lights and placing over 500 trees around the Mall.
