Class of 2013 showcased in new plays

(Minneapolis/St. Paul) A new generation of American actors showcases its talents as the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program Class of 2013 presents Those Who Favor Fire by Aditi Brennan Kapil and South Street by Carson Kreitzer, a pair of new plays, in the Dowling Studio, April 19 28. Those Who Favor Fire depicts characters caught at a turning point in history after the 1933 German Reichstag fire in Berlin. South Street is inspired by the story of Gloria Wasserman, whose life took her from New Yorks Lower East Side to the wilds of Alaska and back again. Noël Raymond directs Those Who Favor Fire, which features Joseph Bigelow, Nate Cheeseman, Ross Destiche, Emily Grodzik, Michael Hanna, Jack Mackie, Tony Mathes, David Nando and Clare Parme. Jeremy Wilhelm directs South Street, which features Nathan Barlow, Eleonore Dendy, India Gurley, McKenna Kelly-Eiding, Steven Johnson, Aeysha Kinnunen, Meghan Kreidler, Chelsie Newhard and Shelby Rose Richardson.
In addition to Those Who Favor Fire and South Street, the Class of 2013 will present public performances of Snapshots (Sunday, April 21 at 1 p.m. and Thursday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m.), a series of monologues and short scenes from classic and contemporary literature.
The artistic team also includes Peter Baker (Set Designer), Clare Brauch (Costume Designer), Mary Montgomery (Lighting Designer), Aaron Newman (Sound Designer for Those Who Favor Fire), Jerry Hsaio (Sound Designer for South Street), Mary Herzog (Properties Designer), Jillian Krohne (Stage Manager for Those Who Favor Fire), Kate OConnell Jandric (Stage Manager for South Street) and Jenny Moeller (Assistant Stage Manager).
The GUTHRIE THEATER (Joe Dowling, Director) was founded by Sir Tyrone Guthrie in 1963 and is an American center for theater performance, production, education and professional training.
