Textile Center Presents
15th Annual World's Largest Textile Garage Sale
Thousands Expected at the U of M's ReUse Program Warehouse
Donations: Thursday, April 9
Preview Sale: Friday, April 10
The Big Sale: Saturday April 11
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, March 2015--The biggest textile garage sale is back! Last year over 2,000 participated, and this year's event promises to be bigger than ever.
For the Sale, individuals and businesses donate mountains of fabric, yarn, threads, notions, kits, patterns, magazines, tools, beads, buttons, and even unfinished projects. Textile Center collects the materials for resale at the University of Minnesota ReUse Program Warehouse. The event also includes a silent auction for sewing machines, sergers, looms, knitting machines, and other specialty textile equipment.
All items have been donated by the community for reuse by the community, with proceeds benefiting Textile Center and surplus materials going to schools and nonprofit organizations. The Garage Sale redistributes materials and equipment valued at over $50,000--thereby diverting waste from landfills as well as providing an affordable way for artists, students, and craft enthusiasts to purchase raw materials.
