Sydney Wolf of metroConnections Wins EMPI Rising Star Award

(MINNEAPOLIS, MN.) May 15, 2015 metroConnections, Inc. an award-winning conference, event, stage production and transportation services firm is pleased to announce that Sales Manager Sydney Wolf is the recipient of the EMPI Rising Star Award from the Minnesota chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI).

The EMPI Rising Star Award recognizes an MPI MN member of two years or less who shows strong commitment and support of the meetings and events industry, has made outstanding contributions to the MPI MN Chapter, and shows promise as a future leader of the chapter. Nominees were judged on three main criteria: influence, the ability to lead others and advance the meetings industry; innovation, the ability to inspire others with their vision and enthusiasm; and transferability, the ability to impact the MPI MN Chapter and community. Winners were announced at the MPI May Awards Gala at the Dakota Jazz Club on May 14.

Wolfs colleague wrote in the award nomination, Working with [Wolf] makes you better; she embraces collaboration and inspires others to provide their best level of service. Wolf also received multiple letters of recommendation from leaders in the industry, supporting her nomination.

Wolf played a lead role in the 2014 MPI World Education Congress; headed the CSR Central volunteer program from concept to execution, working with Meet Minneapolis, the CSR committee, MPI Foundation and metroConnections to provide hands-on activities to benefit eight local charities; and lead her team in designing the 2014 WEC Closing Event, handling entertainment selection, floorplan layout, menu design, event flow, and coordination of all the details.

Since joining the metroConnections team as an intern in 2011, she quickly rose through the ranks and now serves as Sales Manager. As a member of the Sales Team, Wolf leverages her expertise in creative design, program management and event logistics to create experiences for metroConnections clients. Wolf holds a degree in Sports, Entertainment and Event Management from Johnson & Wales University, where she is also currently in the process of earning her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality.

No doubt, Sydney will continue to positively influence not only the Minnesota Chapter of MPI, but the industry as a whole, stated Wolfs nominator. This Rising Star is going to continue to shine bright and will inspire others as she continues to teach, inspire, and create within our community.
