The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee, along with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, announced the first of many performers and musical acts who will play free concerts at Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon. The concerts will take place throughout the 10 day festival happening on Nicollet Mall from January 26-February 4, 2018.
Sticking true to our roots, The Revolution, Sheila E., and Morris Day and the Time will honor the memory of Minnesota-born icon Prince at the Verizon Up Stage on Monday, January 29. This evening, dubbed ‘Prince Night,’ will conclude with a community sing-along of Prince's legendary song ‘Purple Rain.’
The Verizon Up Stage at Ice Mountain will formally open on Friday, January 26 with Tony Award winning artist Idina Menzel performing the song “Let It Go,” from the Disney movie Frozen.
Other artists announced as performers include Dessa, Sounds of Blackness, Soul Asylum, The Jets, Cobi, The Steeles, Vocal Essence, Mint Condition, Stokley Williams, The Suburbs, The Jayhawks, New Power Generation (NPG), New Power Soul, Bob Mould (of Husker Du), and Esera Tuaolo, the former Minnesota Viking who was recently a competitor on NBC’s The Voice.
