Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music
Returns to the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts on March 22
SAINT PAUL, MINN. (FEB. 13, 2014) The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced today that Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music will return to the Ordway for a third year in a row. On Saturday, Mar. 22, the Ordway will present two screenings of the popular film at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $27.
Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music is a screening of the classic Julie Andrews film musical in full-screen Technicolor, complete with subtitles so the whole audience can sing along. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes for a chance to win prizes in a costume contest, which begins a half hour prior to the performance times. Back at the Ordway by popular demand, this crowd-pleasing, interactive show is fun for the whole family.
Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music opened at the Prince Charles Cinema in Londons West End in August of 1999. The show received significant TV and press coverage. Due to the publicity craze, regular performances were scheduled at the cinema. The Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music show has now become a worldwide hit, playing to packed houses across the globe with over 10,000 performances in 11 different countries.
