Updated rosters for the 2014 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will be played on Sunday, July 13th at Target Field, were officially announced today by Major League Baseball. The rosters featured a total of seven changes, including three for the U.S. Team and four for the World Team.
For the U.S. Team, infielder Mookie Betts of the Boston Red Sox has been replaced by fellow Red Sox prospect Sean Coyle following Betts promotion to the Majors in June. Left-handed pitcher Marco Gonzales, who was called up to the Majors by the St. Louis Cardinals, was originally replaced by Minnesota Twins Triple-A right-hander Trevor May. May, who was injured in a start on June 21st, has been replaced by fellow Twins right-hander Alex Meyer.
On the World Team, the 2012 number one overall draft pick of the Houston Astros, Carlos Correa, has been replaced by Single-A infielder Jose Rondon of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim following Correas season-ending leg injury. Atlanta Braves catcher Christian Bethancourt, who was promoted to the Majors during the final weekend of June, was originally replaced by catcher Christian Vazquez of the Red Sox organization.
