Registration for 2014 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon 90% Full
Organizers Expect 12,200 Runner Field to Close before the End of June
St. Paul, Minn. June 27, 2014 Registration for the 2014 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon is nearing completion with more than 90% of the 12,200 runner field already registered for the event. Twin Cities In Motion officials expect the 33rd annual event, scheduled for October 5, to close before the end of the month.
If there are runners sitting on the fence about whether to run, nows the time to register, Twin Cities In Motion Executive Director Virginia Brophy Achman said. Every year we hear from disappointed runners who miss the deadline, so we advise not to delay if youre interested.
The Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon runs from downtown Minneapolis to the State Capitol grounds in St. Paul along the Mississippi River, lakes and parkways that make the race The Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America®. Further information and registration details can be found at tcmevents.org.
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Weekend kicks off on Friday, October 3 with the Health & Fitness Expo at Saint Paul RiverCentre. The Expo, which runs through Saturday, October 4, features more than 100 exhibitors, a full schedule of presentations and packet pick up for the weekends races.
30,000 people are expected to participate in running events held Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5. Saturday Events at the Capitol grounds in St. Paul include the TC 10K, TC 5K Run/Walk, presented by Fredrikson & Byron, and the Medtronic TC Family Events. The Medtronic TC 10 Mile, which starts in downtown Minneapolis and finishes at the Capitol, kicks off Sunday racing which is followed by the signature event of the weekend, the 33rd annual Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon.
