MOA's Radisson Blu expands on commitment to showcase local artists
Radisson Blu Mall of America launches visiting artist program showcasing local minneapolis artists
MINNEAPOLIS (March 27, 2017) – Radisson Blu Mall of America today announces the launch of the hotel’s new Visiting Artist Program, further expanding on the hotel’s commitment to showcase local artists.
Located in the hotel’s high traffic Sky Bridge, Radisson Blu Mall of America invites guests to not only enjoy the local creations, but also purchase the artwork on display at the rotating Visiting Artist Program wall, now available for guests to view.
The hotel’s first Visiting Artist, David Cunningham is a local treasure in the Minneapolis art scene. David trained at local Minneapolis French Academic Art School, The Atelier Studio Program of Fine Arts where his studies progressed to life drawing. After spending time abroad, David moved back home and painted landscapes he had seen growing up around his family’s cabin in Northern Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest. After working in that vein for several years, he moved back to Minneapolis and became interested in street photography and street painting. He developed a large body of work focused on the urban landscapes of the Twin Cities with the aim to communicate traditional techniques with a more contemporary subject matter, as guests will note in the artwork on display.
The artists will rotate on a quarterly basis in the Radisson Blu Mall of America skyway to continue to showcase the many artistic talents in the Twin Cities.
