Results from Phase One of Wolves' Season Ticket Membership Campaign Caps Highly-Successful 2012-13 Season
Minneapolis/St. Paul In a season filled by record-breaking moments and marked improvement on the court, the 2011-12 campaign has also featured tremendous success off the hardwood. Highlighted by 11 sellouts and over 1,000 new season ticket memberships sold, the Wolves, led by All-Star Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio, unquestionably brought the excitement back to Target Center this winter. As Phase One of their highly-successful "Everyone's Talking About the Timberwolves' season ticket membership campaign comes to an end, the Wolves remind fans one last time to purchase their season 2012-13 season ticket memberships before Friday, April 27 to ensure the best prices.
A look back at some of the notable off-court achievements in 2011-12:
PHASE ONE CAMPAIGN RESULTS: Since its launch just over six weeks ago, Phase One of the Timberwolves' season ticket membership campaign has produced record results:
Week One - Over 500 new season ticket memberships were sold, the most new season tickets sold by the franchise in a one-week time frame since the NBA announced a franchise was coming to Minnesota. The team sold over 500 new full season tickets during the record-setting week, over 200 more than the Wolves' prior one-week high accomplished the week of March 1 - 8, 2010
Week Two - Reached capacity in the Club Cambria and Loge Box premium seating areas for the 2012-13 season and added an additional 200 season ticket members to the pack.
Week Three - Hit the 95% capacity mark in the Wolves Lexus Courtside Club, with less than 10 memberships for next season remaining.
Week Four - Hit the 1,000 new season ticket member milestone, putting the team over the 8,000 full season ticket member mark.
2011-12: RENEWAL RESULTS: The Wolves, who currently have their largest season ticket membership holder base since the 2005-06 season with over 8,000 full season pack members, have renewed at 95 percent for next season, which is among the top three in the NBA. It's the first time the Wolves have surpassed the 90 percent renewal mark since the 2004-05 season.
2011-12: ATTENDANCE NOTES: Since a standing room-only crowd of 19,406 came to witness Ricky Rubio's NBA debut back on December 26 in the Wolves' home opener vs. Oklahoma City, basketball fans have returned to Target Center this season to watch one of the most improved teams in the NBA:
- Through 32 home games, the Wolves have drawn an average of 17,574 fans per game this season, their highest figure since averaging 17,636 during the 2003-04 campaign.
- The 17,574 is up 15.3% from a season ago (15,243), good for the second-largest uptick in the NBA this season (Los Angeles Clippers).
- 11 sellouts, the most since the 2003-04 season (14).
- Four 20,000+ crowds - including three consecutive from March 9 - 25 - , the most since they drew six during the 2003-04 campaign.
- Drew three of the top 12 crowds in Target Center history this season, including 20,232 on Feb. 11 vs. New York, the fourth-largest home crowd since the Wolves moved to Target Center in 1990-91.
2011-12 SINGLE-GAME TICKET SALES: Through 31 home games (Tuesday, April 17), the Wolves had seen their single-game tickets sold per game rise 124% over last year. In addition, the Wolves' College Night Program sales have increased 74% over last year.
2011-12 MERCHANDISING: This season Wolves' merchandise sales are up 150% over last season. This year also featured the return of the Timberwolves and Lynx Pro Shop, which re-opened its doors on March 14 and will remain open throughout the summer.
