NEW TOUR DE FRANCE BURGERS UNVEILED BY CHEF VINCENT FRANCOUAL OF VINCENT A RESTAURANT IN MINNEAPOLIS JULY 5-26
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn., June 16, 2014 Will you be glued to your home TV screen this July during the Tour de France as the worlds greatest cyclists race across 3,656 kilometers of French and British countryside? Mais no! Instead, you will be in downtown Minneapolis at Vincent A Restaurant, dining on his new Tour de France burgers and cheering on the teams from Katusha and LampreMerida to Bretagne Seche and Netapp-Endura!
Minneapolis chef Vincent Francoual, as famed for his Vincent Burger as he is for his love of cycling, will help sports fans dine their way through the entire 22-day Tour de France event by introducing his first-ever series of Tour de France Burgers!
Beginning July 5, Vincent will be serving a different burger inspired by the stages of the world-famous cycling eventwith the burgers ingredients paying homage to the areas of Leeds, Haerrogate, York, Sheffield, Cambridge, Ypres, Oyonnax, Risoul, and Maubourguet Pays du Val dAdour. Each consecutive Tour de France Burger will be available at Vincents during lunch, dinner and happy hours for the duration of the race. And each Tour de France burger, made with grass-fed beef, will be paired with wine selected by Minneapolis-based Boisset Family Estates.
The six Tour de France burgers being created by chef Vincent are:
For Stages 1-3 in the Yorkshire, England region, this Tour burger will be enlivened with Wensleydale Cheese, Battered yorkshire pudding and spiced rhubarb relish. (Available from July 5 to 7).
For stages 4-7 in Northern France, the Tour burger will combine cauliflower fritter, beer/cheese sauce and Belgian endive jam. (Available from July 8 to 11)
For stages 8 to 10, inspired by Alsace, France, the Tour de France burger will offer Riesling braised onion, munster cheese and bacon creme fraiche. (Available from July 12 to 15).
For stages 11 to 14 in Alpes./Provence, the Tour de France burger will have gruyere cheese, crispy scalloped potatoes and black olive ratatouille. (Available from July 16 to 19).
For stages 15 to 17, for Languedoc/Roussillon, France, the burger will feature Montpellier butter, grilled eggplant nimoise and Pelardon Cheese. (Available from July 21 to 23).
And for the final stages 18 to 20 in the Southwest of France, the burgers will have Malbec ragout with duck and mushroom, cantal cheese and tomato crispes. (Available July 24 to 26).
Each Tour de France burger will cost $14.50 for lunch or dinner. During Happy Hour, though, the Tour De France Burgers are available for just $8.00 (Vincents happy hours are held Monday to Friday, 4:30 6:00 pm, and Monday Thursday, 8:00 9:30 pm.) As you dine on your Tour de France Burgers, Vincents big-screen televisions will bring the Tours NBCSN-TV live broadcast to life for dinner guests.
