Natalie Ortiz joins Meet Minneapolis as East Coast National Account Executive
Minneapolis (June 22, 2015) --- Meet Minneapolis, Convention and Visitors Association, has hired Natalie Ortiz to join its destination sales team as East Coast National Account Executive. Ortiz brings more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry to the job, serving most recently as the Eastern Regional Senior Sales Manager with the San Mateo County/Silicon Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau.
In her new role at Meet Minneapolis, Ortiz will promote and sell Minneapolis as a premier destination for conventions and meetings, handling association and corporate accounts in the Northeast, Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Natalie will begin her work at Meet Minneapolis on June 29.
Along with her convention and visitors bureau experience, she has also worked with Starwood Hotels and Resorts, selling two premier convention properties. Before that, she worked for six years in meeting planning and marketing with two D.C.-area associations.
The Washington D.C. area along with the East Coast are key markets for us and demand for Minneapolis as a convention destination is growing, said Brent Foerster, senior vice president of Destination Sales for Meet Minneapolis. Thats why were so excited to bring Natalie on board. Her experience in those markets will be invaluable. Having Natalie working alongside industry veteran Kay Russell will allow us to take advantage of our increased popularity and bring more convention and meeting business to Minneapolis.
