Minnesota law enforcement to carry Flame of Hope
at Mall of America® for Special Olympics
WHAT: Minneapolis and Bloomington law enforcement officers will gather at Mall of America® on Friday, June 21 to continue The Final Leg torch run carrying the Flame of Hope, as it travels across Minnesota to kick off the Minnesota Special Olympics Summer Games Celebration.
From Mall of America, Bloomington officers will deliver the Flame of Hope to the light rail station where it will ride a train to the Government Center Plaza Station. The flame will then travel to the Minneapolis City Hall and across the Stone Arch Bridge where it will be handed off to the University of Minnesota Police Department before making its final run to Stillwater, where it will make its grand entrance into the Celebration Ceremonies at the Summer Games.
During the weeks leading up to the Minnesota Special Olympics Summer Games, law enforcement agencies from all over Minnesota will participate in The Final Leg in hopes to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics.
