(Minneapolis; October 29, 2014) -- Miss Richfield 1981 brings her 15th annual holiday show, PLAY WITH MY POODLE FOR CHRISTMAS, to the Illusion for the theaters 40th Anniversary Season. On stage December 5-21, the all-new production has the Midwestern maven on the hunt for a mate.

As a beauty pageant winner, Miss Richfield 1981 has long been proud to wear the crown. But now shes looking for a new title and is willing to turn in her tiara for a ring on her finger to become Mrs. Richfield 1981. So she's on the prowl to find Mr. Rightnow! In Play With My Poodle, Miss R joyously looks for a suitable mate with colorful videos, twisted sing-a-longs, a healthy heap of audience interaction and a few holiday surprises.

December 2014 marks the 15th year of Miss Richfields hilarious holiday progrum and were proud that we have been a part of all of them, said Bonnie Morris, Illusions co-producing director.

Miss Richfield 1981s Play With My Poodle For Christmas is directed by Michael Robins, Illusions co-producing director, and features pianist Todd Emanuel Price. Lighting design is by Mike Wangen.

About Miss Richfield 1981

After an impromptu idea of spicing up a friends party, Russ King took his beauty queen creation of Miss Richfield 1981 to the stage in February 1996, and began performing at Twin Cities bars and benefits. His cabaret career started one year later at the Bryant Lake Bowl Cabaret in Minneapolis. He and his alter ego have been recognized as one of the Twin Cities most creative artists and runner-up for Artist of the Year by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. He has performed annually on Illusions stage since 1996 and performs each summer in Provincetown, Mass., as well as taking his show throughout the country to cabarets and theaters, private and corporate functions, and Atlantis Events cruises and resort vacations.
