Minneapolis selected for 84th Annual International Conference on Assessment Administration
The annual conference of the International Association of Assessing Officers occurs Sept 23-26, 2018
(MINNEAPOLIS) July 16, 2013Minneapolis has been awarded the 84th Annual International Conference on Assessment Administration in 2018. Meet Minneapolis, Convention & Visitors Association, partnering with the Minnesota Association of Assessing Officers, was instrumental in securing the conference that will bring an estimated $1.3 million in economic impact to the city.
This conference is the premier platform to share successes, discover best practices and learn from expert colleagues the latest research in the field of property appraisal. Educational sessions, networking opportunities and events, and a varied exposition equip assessment professionals with the tools needed to succeed. Conference attendees are given the opportunity to interact with peers from all 50 states as well as countries around the globe. The conference is headquartered at the Minneapolis Hilton hotel with the majority of the functions taking place at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
The International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) is a nonprofit, education and research association of government assessment officials and others interested in the administration of the property tax. Founded in 1934, the IAAO has more than 7,300 members worldwide from governmental, business and academic communities.
The annual conference for the IAAO brings approximately 1,000 people to the city for the multi-day event taking advantage of the hospitality of downtown Minneapolis many restaurants, bars, entertainment venues and the natural beauty of the Mississippi River in the walkable, clean, eco-friendly Minneapolis, City by Nature.
