Minneapolis recognized as #14 Top Large City in the U.S.

(October 19, 2016) – Condé Nast Traveler today announced the results of its 29th annual Readers’ Choice Awards with Minneapolis recognized as the #14 Top Large Cities in the U.S., with a score of 82.26.
“We’re thrilled that Condé Nast Traveler readers have recognized Minneapolis among the top large cities in the United States to visit,” said Melvin Tennant, president and CEO, Meet Minneapolis. “This prestigious list confirms what we’ve always known to be true: Minneapolis is a top destination for travelers.”
Additionally, Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was ranked by the readers as the 10th Top Domestic Airport and three area hotels were counted among the top 10 Midwest hotels: JW Marriott Minneapolis Mall of America (#2), Radisson Blu Mall of America (#6) and the St. Paul Hotel (#7).
Over 300,000 dedicated readers – nearly twice as many as last year -- cast votes for 7,394 hotels, 606 cities, 500 cruise ships,and 236 islands, in an average survey time of 8.4 minutes. The result? The 1,402 best travel experiences in the world.
The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest-running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry and are commonly known as “the best of the best of travel.” Under Editor in Chief Pilar Guzmán, the Readers’ Choice Awards have become more selective and specific to the passions that inspire today’s travelers.
