Minneapolis Farmers Market Reveals First Reusable Bag
Design Contest Winners
WHAT
The winner of the Minneapolis Farmers Markets first reusable bag design contest will be revealed at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 1 at the Minneapolis Farmers Market, 312 E. Lyndale Ave. N. The winner of the contest, which was open to high school students in Hennepin and Anoka Counties, will win a $1000 scholarship from COUNTRY Financial, and see their artwork featured on thousands of reusable canvas bags. Bags will be distributed to attendees. After the award ceremony, Bertrand Weber, Director of Culinary and Nutrition Services for Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS), will prepare healthy farm-to-school lunch items like Strawberry Spinach Salad. Weber will be assisted by a group of MPS students, and samples will be offered.
