Minneapolis Energy Fair set for Oct. 10
Minneapolis (Oct. 2, 2015) --- Learn how to save money and help the environment at the inaugural Minneapolis Energy Fair sponsored by NRG Energy on Oct. 10 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This family friendly event will feature a variety of booths and presenters highlighting ways to make your home energy efficient, whether you own or rent. There will also be opportunities to learn about solar options for your home.
The Minneapolis Energy Fair will be held:
Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015
9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Minneapolis Convention Center
1301 Second Avenue South
The event will feature kids’ activities, a complimentary continental breakfast and free LED lightbulbs provided by Xcel Energy. Two free Home Energy Squad Visits provided by CenterPoint Energy and Xcel Energy will be given away, along with tickets to the Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Timberwolves and Science Museum of Minnesota.
A series of brief presentations on energy savings ideas will begin at 10 a.m. and repeat again at 11 a.m. Topics include:
- CenterPoint Energy - “Get Ready for Winter”
- Xcel Energy - “Energy Efficiency can Light up Your Life”
- Center for Energy and Environment - “Home Energy Squad & 0% Financing”
- Metro Clean Energy Resource Team - “Solar Energy for You and Your Community”
Meet Minneapolis is helping coordinate the fair to support the City’s and utilities’ work to make Minneapolis more energy efficient and environmentally sustainable.
