MINNEAPOLIS, May 22, 2015 The Minneapolis Convention Center is hosting thousands of visitors for the week-long 2015 Womens International Convention, from religious leaders to members of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. With 8,000 attendees and 8,515 room nights booked, this event is estimated to have an economic impact of $17 million.
The convention will be in Minneapolis from May 25 29, utilizing several hotels downtown. Restaurants, shops and attractions expect to see convention attendees throughout the week.
Were excited to have the Church of God in Christs Womens International Convention in Minneapolis again, said Melvin Tennant, president and CEO, Meet Minneapolis. Its a bonus to have them here during the Memorial Day holiday, which can be a quiet time downtown. The attendees will surely keep hospitality businesses busy.
