Minneapolis Convention Center hosts the 2015 Northern Lights Qualifier
15,000 volleyball players and fans in Minneapolis this weekend
MINNEAPOLIS, April 24, 2015 - The Minneapolis Convention Center is hosting thousands of visitors from around the country at several major conferences this month. From high school volleyball players to government officials, Minneapolis is the destination for a variety of meetings.
2015 Northern Lights Qualifier
Hosted by the Midwest Volleyball Warehouse, this tournament brings high school athletes and coaches from 748 National Girls Volleyball Teams to Minneapolis. With 15,000 attendees and 12,000 room nights booked, this event fills the need for weekend business in Minneapolis. The 2015 Northern Lights Qualifier is estimated to have an economic impact of $11 million.
Midwest Volleyball Warehouse is home to one of the top volleyball clubs in the nation, Mizuno Northern Lights Juniors. This event began last week and runs through Sunday, April 26.
We've enjoyed hosting the Northern Lights Qualifier for several years and look forward to several more years of doing so, said Scott Romane, executive director, Sports Minneapolis. It's great to see the energy, enthusiasm and expertise these young athletes bring to their competitions at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
