MEET MINNEAPOLIS ANNOUNCES OPENING OF MINNEAPOLIS VISITOR INFORMATION ON NICOLLET
MINNEAPOLIS (OCT. 12, 2015) – Meet Minneapolis, Convention and Visitor Association, today proudly announces the opening of MINNEAPOLIS VISITOR INFORMATION on Nicollet. The new visitor center and store on the corner of Nicollet and 5th Street includes Minneapolis artistic retail, resources for transit, commuting and getting around the city and help with questions about what to do, where to go and how to get the most out of a visit to Minneapolis, City by Nature.
Located at 505 Nicollet, directly across the 5th Street from the Nicollet METRO stop, Meet Minneapolis partnered with CenterPoint Energy to occupy a 5,000 square-foot corner on the street level of the CenterPoint building, which was formerly part of Gaviidae Common. Minneapolis Visitor Information will be open Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
SHOP. MOVE. FIND.
Today’s Minneapolis Visitor Information soft opening begins a new era for visitors of the city, as well as residents.
Shop: Partnering with St. Croix Promotions & Retail, the new facility offers Minneapolis artistic retail products, as well as area sports team logo merchandise and soon Minneapolis, City by Nature branded items. Current items include pint glasses and prints from well-known local artist Adam Turman, as well as jewelry, ceramics, glassware, clothing and much more by talented Minnesota artists. Many of the local artist’s products were created for this store and cannot be found elsewhere. Store promotions and events will soon be announced.
Move: Additionally, Move Minneapolis (formerly the Commuter Connection) has moved into the new facility and will continue to provide services to commuters, carpool information, transit passes, schedules and maps, MnPass and bicycling commuting information and accessories.
Find: Meet Minneapolis staff will be available to answer questions from visitors, share visitor maps and help with suggestions about things to do in Minneapolis and the surrounding area. In the near future, plans include offering a starting point for tours of the city and a social media command center for Meet Minneapolis. The Visitor Information Center in the Minneapolis Convention Center will remain open and available to provide similar information to visitors and convention attendees.
GRAND OPENING IN DECEMBER
A grand opening celebration for Minneapolis Visitor Information will be announced at a later date for early December.
