Meet Minneapolis announces fourth quarter 2012 Hospitality Hero award
(MINNEAPOLIS) March 8, 2013 Shelley Selstad and Paula Granroos, who serve a shared position as concierges in the guest services division at the Minneapolis Convention Center, are both awarded the fourth quarter Hospitality Hero award from Meet Minneapolis, Convention and Visitors Association. The award honors an individual or company who has contributed significantly to the public image of Minneapolis through outstanding hospitality and service.
Selstad and Granroos were both nominated by fellow concierge, Winnie Anderson, for their outstanding knowledge of Minneapolis and exceptional customer service skills. Serving as the first faces many convention attendees see at the Minneapolis Convention Center, their wealth of information and helpful personalities make guests of Minneapolis feel welcome.
Both Selstad and Granroos consistently go the extra mile for convention visitors especially those who have the time to explore Minneapolis. Not only do the two regularly recommend events, hotels and restaurants to guests but they are also sure to supply brochures, bus routes and coupons to help make each guests experience easy and enjoyable.
I dont think anyone knows the depth and width of the hospitality industry more than Paula and Shelley, says Anderson. Through the years they have developed files and folders of common and obscure information about Minneapolis and surrounding communities but most of this information is at the tip of their tongues, delivered with professionalism and in an inviting manner that enables visitors to ask questions and leave the desk with the information needed to enjoy Minneapolis.
Selstad and Granroos belong to the Minnesota Chapter of the National Concierge Association (NCA) which has won NCA Chapter of the Year four times including 2012.
