Loyce Houlton's Nutcracker Fantasy, December 19-23, 2013
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Minnesota Dance Theatre returns to Historic State Theater
for Loyce Houltons Nutcracker Fantasy
December 19 - 23, 2013
2013 marks the 49th anniversary of Loyce Houltons Nutcracker Fantasy performances in the Twin Cities, one step from the remarkable landmark of its golden half-century. Holding the distinction of the longest-running holiday arts event in Minnesota history, MDT announces its return to the Historic State Theater in downtown Minneapolis, December 19 -23, 2013.
To bring the majesty, magic and artistry of Minnesotas own to life, MDTs Nutcracker production brings together 150 artists: dancers, musicians, designers, production professionals and Philip Brunelle at the podium leading a full regalia of musicians in the brilliant music of Tchaikovsky.
The Cowles Center is thrilled to have MDT as part of our third season. While we will miss the energy that Loyce Houltons Nutcracker Fantasy brings to our center, we support MDTs work everywhere it is done stated Lynn Von Eschen, Executive Director of the Cowles Center.
MDTs 2013 -14 season begins at the Cowles Center for Dance and the Performing Arts, in October presenting new, established and MDT favorites in a repertory concert and will conclude the season at the Cowles Center in April, 2014.
