LOEWS MINNEAPOLIS HOTEL INTRODUCES “FLAVOR BY LOEWS HOTELS," A NEW CULINARY EXPERIENCE SHOWCASING HYPER-LOCAL FLAVOR THAT CAPTURES THE ESSENCE OF MINNEAPOLIS
MINNEAPOLIS (November 30, 2017) – Loews Minneapolis Hotel introduces Flavor by Loews Hotels, an innovative food and beverage experience serving up the best of the Twin Cities’ local flavor so that guests can dine like a local within the four walls of the hotel. Rolling out across the Loews portfolio, Flavor by Loews Hotels has now been unveiled at Minneapolis, tempting guests with hyper-local flavors that capture the essence of the city as well as the heart behind local food & beverage producers.
Loews Hotels is one of the first hotel brands to embrace local partnerships on a national scale, satisfying guests’ desires to immerse themselves in the destinations – bite-by-bite and sip-by-sip. Flavor by Loews Hotels at Loews Minneapolis Hotel is built upon this vision and highlights partnerships with artisan food & beverage vendors who have inspiring stories to share. They include:
· Using only local honey and maple sugar to sweeten their gourmet chocolates, Mademoiselle Miel brings a unique flavor experience to the Twin Cities. Collected from over 30 beehives, located on rooftops throughout Minneapolis, Mademoiselle Miel chocolates are helping to protect the honeybee population, while creating a delicious, naturally sweetened chocolate. Because honey’s flavor profile is directly impacted by the nectar produced by the plants in the location of the honeybees, Loews Minneapolis Hotel is providing guests the opportunity to truly have a local taste of the Twin Cities. Guests can savor Mademoiselle Miel’s decadent chocolates through the hotel’s gift shop and in its restaurant, Cosmos.
· Baker’s Field Flour & Bread is returning stone milling to the Mill City and baking naturally leavened breads in Northeast Minneapolis. Using locally grown, organic grains, Baker’s Field Flour & Bread is the first flour mill to be allowed in Minneapolis after an explosion in the early 1900s, resulting in a flour mill ban. Loews Minneapolis Hotel is excited to partner with Baker’s Field Flour & Bread, who combines old-world methods with new-world artistry and organic farming techniques. Using the region’s incredible variety of grains, the company creates a local flavor unlike any other bakery in the Twin Cities. Guests can enjoy breads from Baker’s Field Flour & Bread in the property’s restaurants and lounges, where it will be used in sandwiches and as table bread, as well as through its catering department.
· The Herbivorous Butcher, a one-of-a-kind vegan butcher shop, is the first in the country. The Herbivorous Butcher’s mission is to deliver delicious tasting, fresh vegan meats and cheeses for a happier, healthier world. By partnering with The Herbivorous Butcher, Loews Minneapolis Hotel will be providing guests the opportunity to indulge in exquisite, flavorful vegan meats and cheeses. Apothecary Bar & Lounge, one of the hotel’s lounges, will serve a vegan charcuterie board, and Cosmos will offer vegan meats and cheeses on its breakfast and dinner menus. The vegan meats and cheeses will also be available for banquets.
“Minneapolis’ culinary scene has really exploded in recent years and much of it revolves around staying true to the best of the Upper Midwest’s flavors and cuisine. While we’ve been using local ingredients to provide guests with a true taste of Minnesota, we are excited to take our hyper-local culinary offering to the next level by partnering with local purveyors who showcase the variety of local, artisanal talent in the Twin Cities,” said Timothy Fischer, Executive Chef, Loews Minneapolis Hotel.
The Flavor by Loews Hotels program was born at Loews Miami Beach Hotel, which perfectly captured the iconic culture of Miami through its partnerships with an amazing cast of the city’s finest food & beverage purveyors. Based on the success of Flavor Miami, all Loews Hotels from coast-to-coast are now introducing the best of their destination’s food and drink artisans, so guests can truly dine like a local.
Flavor by Loews Hotels will complete its launch across the brand by spring 2018. For more information on Flavor by Loews Hotels visit www.loewshotels.com/flavor.
