WHAT: On Sunday, October 25, more than 2,000 survivors, loved ones and those who have lost loved ones, will come together for the first-ever evening walk for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) at Mall of America.
The Light the Night Walk at Mall of America will begin at 4 p.m. with registration and entertainment. At 7:15 p.m., the Mall lights will dim and thousands of illuminated lanterns will be held high as participants walk the halls of Mall of America to symbolically shine a light on the importance of finding a cure for blood cancers.
In the United States, an estimated 1.2 million people are living with, or are in remission from, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma or another form of blood cancer. Each of them, and the doctors who treat them, depend on research supported by LLS.
LLS is closer to cures than ever before. Last year alone, LLS invested nearly $80 million in cutting-edge research – bringing the total to more than $1 billion LLS has spent to advance cancer therapies and save lives.
