"Jon and I both have wide-ranging tastes and share a lot of favorite songs and composers," says Evingson. "Our show on the cruise was different every night, with a wild mix of things ranging from Tin Pan Alley to Broadway, bossa nova, jazz and pop songs. Jon is a virtuoso pianist, can cover any style and has an encyclopedic knowledge of music, so when working with him, the possibilities are endless!" Bassist GORDY JOHNSON will join Evingson and Weber for _DESERT ISLAND PICKS_.
CONNIE EVINGSON has appeared with Wynton Marsalis and Michael Feinstein at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Garrison Keillor's _A Prairie Home Companion_, the Minnesota Orchestra, Toronto Symphony and the JazzMN Orchestra, among others. Her 2012 release _Sweet Happy Life_ reached #10 on both the Billboard Jazz and JazzWeek radio charts, and her 9 CDs covering an array of jazz styles have all charted in the Top 50 in the U.S. and Canada. She is a two-time recipient of the McKnight Fellowship Award.
Pianist JON WEBER is familiar to Twin Cities audiences for his annual appearances at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival since 2007. He is in demand as a solo performer, accompanist, arranger and music director in clubs and concert halls in New York City where he is based, and keeps an active touring schedule around the world. A regular at NYC's 92nd St "Y" Jazz series, he has appeared in duo performances with Dick Hyman, Bill Charlap and Cyrus Chestnut and as a music director of various productions.
