BNW Student Union Opens Holiday Show Next Friday

Minneapolis, MN -- The Brave New Workshop Theatre (BNW) is pleased to announce "Holiday Mix Tape 2013," a holiday-themed show presented by the BNW Student Union at 2605 Hennepin Ave S in Uptown Minneapolis. The show opens Friday, December 6 and runs through December 21.

"Holiday Mix Tape 2013" is a full show of new and best-of sketches performed by the BNW Student Union Players, a hand-picked group of highly talented BNW Student Union alumni. More than being a copy of the Brave New Workshop's mainstage productions, "Holiday Mix Tape 2013" is a chance for audiences to see a new set of actors in the classic BNW setting. Along with the full-length sketch show, audiences will be treated to an all-improvised third act featuring current and former BNW Student Union students after every performance of "Holiday Mix Tape 2013."

"The goal of this show is to keep the tradition of edgy sketch comedy alive at the BNW's historic home at 26th and Hennepin," says "Mix Tape" director Joe Bozic. "Not only that, but it also is part of our overall effort to serve the growing sketch comedy and improvisational theater scene in Minneapolis."

The BNW Student Union's "Holiday Mix Tape 2013" will feature Josh Carson, Heather Meyer, James Roop, and Anna Weggel. BNW Student Union co-director Joe Bozic directs the cast, Lizzie Gernes will provide technical direction, and Justin Nellis will provide musical direction.

The BNW Student Union's "Holiday Mix Tape 2013" is a part of the BNW's three - show holiday offering including "I Saw Daddy Marry Santa Claus" on the BNW mainstage at 824 Hennepin, and The Danger Committee's "A Stocking Full of Awesome III: You'll Shoot Your Eye Out" taking place in the BNW's ETC Event Centre, also at 824 Hennepin Ave in Downtown Minneapolis.
