GUTHRIE ANNOUNCES POST-SHOW EVENTS FOR PRESENTATION OF "MOON SHOW 143"
Rock concert theatrics collide with interstellar imagery to form a new moon myth in this world premiere.
Post-show events include appearances by DJ Marinos, the Bell Museum of Natural Historys ExploraDome and the Twin Cities-based band Rogue Valley

(Minneapolis/St. Paul) The Guthrie Theater today announced a line-up of post-show events in conjunction with Seattle-based theater and visual artist Kyle Lovens Moon Show 143. The events are as follows:
Saturday, September 14
Following the opening night performance, DJ Marinos will be spinning space-inspired music in the Pohlad Lobby and audience members can join staff from the Bell Museum of Natural History inside their traveling ExploraDome. The ExploraDome is an immersive learning environment where visitors experience hands-on, minds-on learning through planetarium shows.
Sunday, September 15
Following the 7 p.m. performance, acclaimed local musicians Chris Koza and Linnea Mohn of Rogue Valley will play moon-inspired songs from their full-length season albums.
Tuesday, September 17
Following the 7:30 p.m. performance, Astronomer and University of Minnesota Astrophysics Professor Terry Jay Jones will speak with audience members about the science of the sky in Gold Medal Park, located next to the Guthrie.
About Moon Show 143
Inspired by moon myths and beliefs from around the world, this theatrical duet features the talents of Kyle Loven and Paurl Walsh in an experience that combines live and recorded sound with puppetry and movement to portray four fateful encounters between humans and the moon. Loven is The Moon while Walsh provides the live soundtrack during this cosmic rock concert.
The artistic team includes Nick Hubbard (Director), Amiya Brown (Lighting Designer), Paurl Walsh (Composer), Kate Wallich (Choreographer) and Laura Abend (Stage Manager).
About Kyle Loven
Although Kyle Loven is based in Seattle, he has extensive Minnesota ties and has worked with Michael Sommers and Susan Haas Open Eye Figure Theatre and performed with Theatre de la Jeune Lune and the Childrens Theatre Company. His live performances have also been seen in Amsterdam, Taipei, New York, Minneapolis, Portland, Orlando and Seattle.
Loven is a previous recipient of a Jim Henson Foundation grant, putting him in the company of Basil Twist and Ping Chong. He also received the 2013 Innovation in Puppetry Award from the National Festival of the Puppeteers of America. Of Lovens talent, Seattle Magazine offers, In Lovens able hands, inanimate objects leap to life. He has an uncanny knack for animating everything from hand puppets and marionettes (which he crafts) to teapots, paper cranes and envelopes. His pacing is sophisticated-slow and shadowy, increasing suspense and wonder.
