Born to a family of professional musicians, David Malmberg has had entertainment in his blood from the beginning. After seeing ventriloquist Paul Winchell on TV when he was 13, he began practicing throwing his voice in the classroom and his parents purchased a professional figure for him when he was 15. David later went off to serve his country in the United States Navy, and when his antics throwing his voice in boot camp with his fellow sailors caught the attention of his superiors, he was assigned as a DJ for radio stations in the American Forces Radio network in Cuba and Spain.

As a result of being in Spain, David also took up the classical guitar, studying with America Martinez Serrano from the well-known Conservatory of Music in Seville. Returning home, he began a 20-year successful run as the operations director of radio stations K102 and WDGY in Minneapolis, winning many industry awards including being named one of the Top Ten Program Directors in America by Inside Radio. This also gave him continued opportunities to practice voice characterizations on the radio and in hundreds of commercials.

Multi-talented, David has performed nationally, has written a book on ventriloquism, has produced ten music CDs, and his classical guitar CDs are played on radio throughout the country. He offers three shows to G. L. Berg clients:
