Free Saturday Yoga Classes at Union Depot Held Outdoors During Summer
Saint Paul, MINN. (May 25, 2018) – Yoga enthusiasts will be able to strike a pose under sunny skies with the magnificent Union Depot and the Saint Paul cityscape as their backdrop this summer with the popular, free Saturday morning yoga classes at Union Depot in Lowertown being held outdoors on the building’s North Plaza. The classes, taught by professionals from Studio925, are held Saturday mornings from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and are free and open to the public. The Saturday morning outdoor classes have begun and will be held on the North Plaza each week, weather permitting, until cooler temperatures return in the fall. In the case of inclement weather, the classes will be held indoors in the Waiting Room or Head House.
The free yoga classes, which began in 2013, are usually held indoors in the Waiting Room or the Head House each week, depending on the day’s schedule of events at Union Depot. On May 5, the day of the recent Train Day event, the Saturday yoga classes were temporarily moved outdoors to the North Plaza so the indoor space could be devoted completely to Train Day activities. The outdoors space proved to be so popular with participants that the decision was made to hold the Saturday classes out on the North Plaza during the summer months. At this time, the Monday Night Sculpt and Tuesday Noon Yoga classes will continue to be held indoors.
The free yoga classes at Union Depot are open to participants at a variety of fitness levels. Reservations are not required for attendance. Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat, water, and towel if needed. The indoors classes are taught in the Waiting Room unless that space is closed for a private event, in which case the classes are held in the Head House under the East Clock. Class participants can visit the Union Depot Facebook or Twitter pages at https://www.facebook.com/uniondepot/ or https://twitter.com/UnionDepot for updates on class location.
