Apple Valley, MN August 21, 2018 The Minnesota Zoo invites grandparents and their families to the Zoo on Grandparents Day, September 9. Come celebrate with your loved ones while honoring our beloved “grandparent” snow monkeys, Margie, Kesshi, and Yumoto. /We’ll even pick up the tab with free admission at the gate for all grandparents.
It gets better. Grandparents also receive 20 percent off in the Zoo’s Timber Lodge Traders gift shop and a free cookie while supplies last with any coffee purchase. We are also offering a special Grandparent and Grandparent Plus membership, which is a 14-month membership for the price of 12 months.
John Frawley, Minnesota Zoo Director, said, “The Zoo is a great way for families to spend quality time together while taking in amazing wildlife, educational programming, and so much more. I know my grandmother loved the Zoo. It makes perfect sense for us to honor grandparents by not charging them admission. It’s their day, and we hope to be a part of it.”
We hope to see YOU on Grandparents Day (grandchildren in tow are optional). While here, be sure to experience a taste of the Australian Outback at Kangaroo Crossing. This up-close and personal stroll puts guests just feet away from kangaroos, wallabies and emus. Time is running out—Kangaroo Crossing closes mid-October.
The Minnesota Zoo is open on Grandparents Day, and every day after Labor Day, from 9 am to 4 pm.
