FIRST AVENUE WEEKLY PRESS RELEASE: Tuesday, June 18, 2019
JUST ANNOUNCED:
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats announced an additional leg on their tour to promote their album Tearing at the Seams, including a stop at Surly Brewing Festival Field with Hiss Golden Messenger on Friday, August 30. Their aptly-titled 2018 release shows the band tearing at their own seams, at their sturdy sound, at long-held definitions of friend and family and band. It’s an album building on the sound of their debut and dramatically redefining what they can do and where they can go next.
Charli XCX announces her first album in five years, Charli, (out September 13 via Atlantic Records) alongside the music video for “Blame It On Your Love” ft. Lizzo. Additional features on Charli include Troye Sivan, HAIM, Sky Ferreira, cupcakKe, Clairo, Yaeji, Big Freedia, Kim Petras, and more. The Charli LIVE tour hits First Avenue with Dorian Electra on Friday, October 11.
The Wood Brothers’ sixth album, One Drop of Truth, dives headfirst into a deep wellspring of sounds, styles and influences to find three musicians being true to themselves. In chaotic times when honesty is in short supply and ulterior motives seem always to be at play, The Wood Brothers put faith in themselves and ultimately their audience by writing and recording a collection of songs that is honest and pure. The group returns to the Mainroom on Thursday, November 14.
