MINNEAPOLIS (September 9, 2014) As the crisp fall weather begins to ascend on Minneapolis, FireLake Grill House & Cocktail Bar in Downtown Minneapolis announces a series of new seasonally inspired dishes and promotional opportunities perfect for the cool month ahead. From new autumnal fare expertly crafted by Executive Chef Jim Kyndberg to festive wine programs and events, the opportunities to experience FireLake in the most exciting culinary season are abundant.
NAME THAT WINE
Providing guests the opportunity to indulge and experience wines from around the globe, FireLake will rollout the Name That Wine promotion in September. Selecting wines from the restaurants stunning wine wall, patrons looking to open their eyes to a different set of varietals and to test their wine knowledge need look no further than this opportunity. With the simple roll of a dice, guests will be provided a wine chosen by the wine team at FireLake. Should the diner accurately guess the region or grape varietal the wine is complimentary, if they do not, they will receive the bottle at the price of $39, no matter what the actual cost is on the menu.
HARVEST SEASON SPECIALS
From soups and appetizers to desserts and cocktails, FireLake will launch a series of culinary items for the start of the fall season with the Market Harvest Menu. Featuring the Farmers Market Minestrone; Grilled Caprese Flatbread with heirloom tomatoes, sunflower parsley pesto, burrata cheese and aged balsamic; Bison Bourguinon with fingerling potatoes, carrots, cippolini onions and mushrooms; Wild Acres Duck Breast with Brussels sprouts, sunchoke puree and maple bourbon reduction; Harvest Cake with zucchini, cranberries, walnuts, and date ice cream. For cocktails, the mixology team at the restaurant has paid homage to Minnesotas heritage with the Swedish Blush of Solveig Gin, raspberry syrup and lemon as well as the Nordic Pear-adise with Alander Rum, roasted pear syrup and lemon.
SILVER OAK COMES TO MINNEAPOLIS
On Tuesday, September 16, FireLake will partner with Napa Valley Winery, Silver Oak, for a seasonally inspired evening featuring a menu crafted by Chef Jim Kyndberg paired with the unforgettable wines of Silver Oak Winery. The dinner for the evening will feature Butter Poached Dover Sole with sunchoke puree and wild sorel paired with Twomey Sauvignon Blanc; Pan Seared Duck Breast with confit fingerling potatoes, pan seared duck breast and grilled oyster mushrooms paired with Twomey Pinot Noir; Suckling Pig Porchetta with soft polenta, swiss chard paired with Twomey Merlot and Beef Short Rib with autumn squash agnolotti, black truffle red wine reduction paired with Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet 2010 and Silver Oak Napa Cabernet 2009.
