Finnstyle Fete of Toikka Glass Birds to open March 29 at The Raptor Center
FINNSTYLE FÊTE OF TOIKKA GLASS BIRDS
Event will include special live guest from The Raptor Center
WHAT: Gain access to some of the most beautiful birds in the world without leaving the city at FinnStyle's Fete of Glass Birds Saturday, March 29. Guests will come face-to-face with a live owl* from The Raptor Center as they peruse FinnStyle's extensive collection of Toikka Glass Birds, including the brand new 2014 flock. Handcrafted using complex coloring techniques, the six new birds showcase some of Oiva Toikka's best work yet.
The event will highlight Toikka's Glass Birds, which have been shaped by master glassblowers since the early 1970s. Since the inception of his collectible works of art, Toikka has designed and created more than 500 variations of glass blown birds. Collecting Toikka glass birds has become an international activity with rarities being as eagerly tracked down and talked about as their equivalents in the ornithological world.
Guests in attendance will be invited to enter for a chance to win an authentic Toikka Sooty Owl in honor of the special guest from The Raptor Center. Shoppers who spend $250 or more on a glass bird will receive a complimentary Toikka Little Lilac Tern. In addition, customers can take advantage of the iittala sale and save 20 percent on any iittala purchase which include the Toikka birds. Refreshments will also be served throughout the day.
