ReCAST Minneapolis (Resilience in Communities After Stress & Trauma)
partnered with Comunidades Latinas Unidas En Servicio (CLUES) to create the
mural, which depicts the real-life experiences of immigrants and refugees who
came to this country. To get the imagery, GoodSpace Murals hosted seven
sessions with ten community members to get their experiences for incorporation
into the artwork. City staff participated in the last four sessions to help
paint the mural alongside the community members. This process also made it
possible for the City to learn better ways to help immigrant and refugee
communities and also get a deeper understanding of their experiences.
