Preschool Drop-off: Kits & Cubs - Sleepy Chipmunks
Monday, November 4, from 10 a.m. -noon, at Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve, Dayton. Drop off the kids to explore nature in fall. They will discover the natural world through hands-on learning: stories, art, songs, games, play activities, and hikes. A snack is included. Dress to be outside. Tuesday, November 5, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., or 1-3 p.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Drop off your kids for a whirlwind of fun. Each weeks activities are based on a different childrens book with a nature-inspired art theme. We will spend part of every class exploring what autumn brings to our life-filled wetlands, woods and prairies; then get messy as we cut, paste, paint or sculpt! Dress for the weather and bring a light snack, water bottle, and a bag to keep all your projects together. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. Grandparent and Child Clay
Wednesday, November 6, from 10-11:30 a.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Grab your nearest grandchild and head to Silverwood Park to discover the unique qualities of clay when you make art together. Discover how easily clay changes shape when you squeeze and roll it with your fingers. The instructor will show you how to make a project, finding inspiration in the plants and animals within Silverwoods unique habitats. Work as a pair to make a new project each session. Digging In: Family Gift-Giving
Wednesday, November 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Silverwood is offering a three-week adult/child series designed to offer an exploration of ceramic gifts inspired by falls harvest and the changing season. Each week adults and kids have the opportunity to work together to create a unique gift for someone special. Each class will be held one night a week for three weeks. No prior experience in clay is necessary. Dress for mess. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $75 and reservations are required.
