Preschool Drop Off: Doodlebugs
Tuesday, February 21, from 1-3 p.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Drop off your kids for a whirlwind of fun-filled art activities. Each weeks activities are based on a different childrens book with a nature-inspired art theme. Wear old clothes we will be getting messy as we cut, paste, paint, sculpt, dance and sing! We will also spend part of every class exploring our parks sleeping plants, sparkling snow, and other winter wonders. Sign up for one day or the entire series. Tuesday, February 21, form 1-3 p.m., at Fish Lake Regional Park, Maple Grove. Drop off your kids for a snowshoe adventure through the woods. Discover different types of snowflakes and make a clay snowman. After snowshoeing, warm up your nose and tummy with hot cocoa and a sweet treat while you listen to a snow story. Monday, February 20, from 1-3 p.m., at Lowry Nature Center, in Carver Park Reserve, Victoria. Drop off your preschooler to discover playful otters! Feel a real otter pelt, learn how otters play, and head outside in search of otter signs in the snow. Well try to slide on our tummies just like otters! Make a craft and end the day with a story. This week we will explore smelling, make a craft, and enjoy a snack brought from home. Cost is $10 and reservations are required. My Preschooler & Me: Puppet Escapades: Give Me Shelter
Wednesday, February 22, from 10-11 a.m., at Richardson Nature Center, in Hyland Lake Park Reserve, Bloomington. Meet Richardsons animal puppets to find out where animals find shelter in the winter. Before the show, participate in nature-based, age-appropriate activity stations that may include art, nature artifact inquiry, puzzles, matching games, and a sensory table. After the program, create your own show in the child-sized puppet stage and venture outdoors to look for animal homes and tracks. Adults and children pay program fee. Maximum of 3 children per adult.
