Blackout retuns to Nickelodeon Universe® as the centerpiece of Halloween festivities at Mall of America®
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (Oct. 18, 2013) Whether you like your Halloween spooky or sweet, Mall of America® has something for everybody this season. The Halloween excitement will be non-stop throughout October with new stores to find the perfect costume, a Halloween-themed Toddler Tuesday event, the Worlds Largest Indoor Trick-or-Treat and the two-weekend Halloween extravaganza known as Blackout in Nickelodeon Universe.

Blackout
Guests can experience Nickelodeon Universe in a whole new way with unlit rides, black lighting and fog effects. While DJ Glow spins the party tunes, families can enjoy plenty of spooky, interactive activities.
- Creepy Critters Show: come face-to-face with the creepiest of critters such as tarantulas and boa constrictors at 7:30 p.m. in West Market Square
- Halloween Costume Contest: Awards will be given to the silliest, spookiest and most original costumes at 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m. in West Market Square.
- Nickelodeon Character Meet and Greets: Kids can interact with their favorite Nickelodeon characters at the Blue and Green Spots throughout the evening.
- Blackout Unlimited Ride Wristband: The first 1000 guests to purchase a Blackout Unlimited Ride Wristband ($20.99 +tax) will receive a free treat bag.
- Black light photo booth, Glow-Dos, t-shirt making and more!

Now Open: Spirit Halloween Store
As a part of their 20th Anniversary celebration, Spirit Halloween is the newest addition to the Halloween scene at Mall of America opening a store on Level 3, North. With hundreds of costumes, accessories and decorations, Spirit Halloween is the Halloween headquarters.

Worlds Largest Indoor Trick-or-Treat
To escape the ghosts, goblins or chilly weather on Halloween night, Mall of America will offer the Worlds Largest Indoor Trick-or-Treat. Guests can start their night by picking up a treat bag in Southeast Court and then begin their trick-or-treating adventure by visiting participating Mall stores. Other exciting features include an Allergy-Free Zone with a static electricity machine, magic tricks and new this year, digging for fossils.
