BIG CHANGES AHEAD FOR FINNSTYLE

New name, location and products are in store for the modern Finnish design retailer

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. A new year means a new start for FinnStyle. Minnesota's premiere modern Finnish design destination will undergo a transformation. On Feb 16, FinnStyle will close its current Minneapolis location and will relocate to Golden Valley to relaunch as AlwaysMod in mid-March.

"After 13 years of growing and nurturing FinnStyle, we've decided it's time to widen our customer reach and product selection," said Ben Horn, owner of Our World Shops, Inc., the parent company of FinnStyle.

AlwaysMod will offer modern design for the home including dinnerware, home accents, textiles, lighting and furniture. In addition to the brands that have been available at FinnStyle, the product mix will expand to include additional labels that have a complementary modern aesthetic from around the world. Among the new brands customers will encounter are Alessi, Design Ideas, Finell, Kikkerland, and MoMA; with several more brands that will soon join the roster.

"The name AlwaysMod represents timelessness, functionality and form, which are all characteristics of the products shoppers will find at our store and website. We're very excited to introduce the Twin Cities to our curated selection of modern goods in a brand new setting. We hope the community embraces AlwaysMod as warmly as they did with FinnStyle."

The new Golden Valley location at 905 Decatur Ave. North, near Highways 55 and 169, will continue to be a destination. More than 3,000 products will be on display in the 4,000-square-foot space, nearly double the retail space of the current location. The additional square footage will house furniture and lighting displays as well as a demonstration kitchen.

Our World Shops, Inc. is Horn's e-commerce company, which owns and operates six different websites including FinnStyle.com and AlwaysMod.com as well as the bricks-and-mortar store. AlwaysMod.com launched in 2008 with a major expansion in 2014. The FinnStyle.com online store will remain unchanged.
